striking range of jewellery from artist Gabrielle Tetley features a variety
of original and innovative ring, brooch, pendant and earring designs.
Sterling silver and 18ct gold is folded, milled and forged into delicate
but robust structures which retain an organic look and feel.
The gold and silver used in the design cores is often enhanced with rough-cut or beaded precious and semi-precious stones. The results range from soft finishes through to highly contrasting structures of forged metals and drop beads. The core of each piece evolves from one piece of thin sheet metal but often appears to have been cast, chased, or fabricated from several layers. Inspiration for the designs comes from the intrinsic movement and displacement of the raw materials inherent in the folding process. The finished work is the result of an idea that evolves as the piece takes shape in the early folding stages, as the folds take on a life and form of their own. The jewellery range is available to both galleries and private clients. Commissions for new jewellery and silverware are welcomed. |
